Once, a man went to a barber shop to get a haircut. During the haircut, the barber and the man started discussing various topics, which eventually led to a conversation about God.
The barber expressed that he did not believe in the existence of God and identified himself as an atheist. When the man asked why he felt that way, the barber explained, “If God existed, then why are there so many people suffering from hunger and illness? Why is there violence and pain in the world? I cannot imagine a merciless God who allows these things to happen.”
The man thought for a moment but chose not to engage in a debate, so he quietly listened to the barber.
After finishing the haircut, the man paid the barber and stepped outside, where he saw a man with long, unkempt hair and a bushy beard, suggesting he hadn’t had a haircut in months. Surprised, the man went back into the barber shop and told the barber, “Do you know that barbers don’t exist?”
The barber was confused and replied, “What are you saying? Do you not see me? I am here, and I just cut your hair.”
The man responded, “No! If barbers existed, then why would there be people outside with long hair and beards like that?”
The barber replied, “If that person never goes to a barber, how can a barber cut his hair?”
The man then concluded, “Exactly! That’s the same with God. God exists, but if people don’t believe in Him, how can He help them?”
